Spring Training?

Maree asked if I was going to Spring Training or not. Well the answer is YES. I fly out on the 2nd of March for Phoenix and fly back on the 9th. I have tickets to two games during that time and both of my sisters will be there to visit with as well.
We have planned to go to Tucson one of those days and visit my parent's graves. I might look into having my brother's grave repaired. The cement around the stone was deteriorated quite a bit the last time I was there. I doubt it will get any better.
Any way - yes, Maree, I will get to Spring Training.

Home Makeover - Part 3

The home makeover wouldn't be complete with out our bedroom makover. Besides the salt and pepper carpet we have had a wall makeover thanks to Bonnie, who painted the room tan, while we were going with Aimee to Los Angeles last Friday. Oh yes, there is a mini-bed makeover in here too.

Home Makeover - Part 2

Here is our new family picture collection. It is at the end of the hall next to our bedroom doorway.

Here is a closer view before we hung it up.

Home Makeover - Part 1

We have been in our "new" home almost 15 years. It was past time for a home makeover so, with a lot of help from Bonnie, we have jumped into the home makeover world. Painting and carpeting have been our main endeavors so far.

The living room / dining room will be the first one we will show. Here are pictures of before / during / and after. Quite a shock to go from green to black/white/red/tan.
Well - How do you like the change? Our bedroom is next.

Facts and Figures - that no one but me cares about

Well - Have I been busy? Here are my figures from the past 3 months. They track total hours (on call, in class, study, etc.), phone calls, and emails.
Month Hours Phone Emails Total Contacts
October 100 36 26 62
November 85 54 14 68
December 67 29 46 77
January 101 63 57 120

Must say January was a good month. I really pushed to make 100 contacts and far exceeded my goal. I probably have had 10 evaluations of contacts out of all those contacts. Except for one, every evaluation has been perfect. The one I got marked down on a little the evaluator said there was a better knowledge document but the one I used was OK.

So far I have had calls from 32 states, and 9 countries outside the USA. I have had callers from Australia, Brazil, Canada, England, Ireland, Mexico, New Zealand, Sweden, and the United Kingdom (country not specified.)

This is an exciting, challenging and rewarding experience. It is actually becoming a little fun too as I get confidence.

I am on the speaking tour too for genealogy presentations. So far this year here is where I am booked to speak: Feb 10 - Fresno Co. Genealogical Society, Feb 28 - Mayflower Society (Fresno), March 17 - Kern Co. Genealogical Society (Bakersfield), March 21 Los Banos Genealogical Society, April 2 - Sequoia Genealogical Society (Hanford), April 18 - Merced County Genealogical Society, May - Nothing!!! June 20 - Los Banos Genealogical Society again.

Who said retirement had to be boring?
