This had to be the worse year of Grandma's life. She turned 8 in April and her father died in June. I believe most of these were taken before her father died. He had been a coal miner and had black lung disease. This had caused him to stop mining at a young age. He was hospitalized at a young age in Philadelphia where he met my grandmother, Helen Alcesta Sands, who was a nurse. He died in August 1925 while siting on the porch swing with Grandmother. He had a stroke and died within seconds still holding her hand.

Must have still been cold - probably in the spring. All dressed up to go out somewhere.

Anyone who knew Grandma now understands her love for her dolls. Started at an early age no doubt.

Dancing in a ballet dress?

Probably taken in the summer after her father died. I love pictures of these old cars.
