North to Alaska - Day 1

Packing everything including the kitchen sink can be such a chore. Here is Barb trying to figure out how to put 2 cubic yards of clothes, etc. into 1 cubic yard of baggage. This would be so easy if we could just take every bag we own and there were no luggage limits (number of bags, weight, size, etc.)

So here we go, put the stuff out and start filling the bags (most for Alaska, some for Utah and the rest for Laura's (our staging station for this trip.)

Thirty-six hours later - no lie - here we are. The kitchen sink is somewhere in here. Can you find it? Who says you need a large family to need a minivan. Well, yes, we do have a large family but none live at home anymore.
So at 9:00 AM, July 2, we took off for Sacramento. We met Laura at the mall in Roseville for lunch and to get Barbara a bluetooth telephone device so she won't get tickets for using her cell phone in the car. One visit to the Disney Store for presents for the grandkids for school and Christmas, and a trip to get the toenails done by the girls and we all reassembled in Marysville for dinner. One day down.
